Content filters not enough

Once again it has been pointed out that web filtering software is not sufficient to stop kiddies from being able to find porn (as well as other “objectionable content”). This is according to Computing Which?, as reported in an article on The Register (Censorware software fails to cut it). This should come as no surprise to anyone who knows a bit about how the Internet works.

And the solution? Parental supervision. Despite what the ‘family’ and ‘religious’ groups may say, the solution is not to ban porn sites. Why would censors in Russia and Japan care about what British children are looking at on their computers? Perhaps one day this will filter through to the pro-censorship people.
