Car park sign banned

According to Jihad Watch back in March a British pub owner was issued with an ASBO for putting up a sign for his car-park, jokingly labelling it ‘porking yard’ in reference to the historic use of the site by butchers. The pub is next to a mosque, and some Muslims were so offended by the mention of a forbidden foodstuff that they complained.

According to The Scotsman, “Leroy Trought, 43, was given a two-year Asbo at a hearing at Bristol Magistrates Court in March.”

This is another sign that ASBOs put too much power in the wrong hands. They were sold as a way of curbing anti-social behaviour by youths ‘hanging around’ Britain's towns, but now the variety of activities they're being used to curtail is such that the BBC website has a series of articles chronicling the most interesting.
