Hepatitis C too bad in UKOctober 2nd 2005, 18:08 Jeff Sela According to the Hepatitis C Trust, the UK is lagging behind other European countries in dealing with the disease. It's thought that about half a million people in the UK are infected. Hepatitis C is a virus which is mostly found in the blood. It can be transmitted in various ways. Although it can be caught by sex, and is therefore sometimes considered to be an STD, the risk is low if condoms are used. Unlike Hepatitis A and B, there is currently no vaccine for Hepatitis C, but if caught reasonably early there are treatments that are effective in most cases. Tags:
