More on the war on porn

Brian Alexander in an article on MSNBC points to research by a psychologist called Gert Martin Hald, which seems to support the view that porn isn't dangerous to society. Alexander asks why the FBI are putting resources towards fighting porn. I like his final suggestion:

Maybe that special FBI squad should plant porn inside terrorist cells. You know, keep 'em busy.

To probe deeply into the underground world of pornography, the bureau will have to infiltrate a virtually impenetrable network of anonymous porn providers. We're talking outfits like DirecTV, Time Warner, thousands of video rental stores and the Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Sheraton hotel chains. All make a mint from making porn readily available. None are what you would call mainstream entities.
