Sam Sugar interviews Tony ComstockOctober 28th 2005, 01:55 Jeff Sela In the latest of his Podnography broadcasts Sam Sugar did an in-depth interview with Tony Comstock, of Comstock Films. Comstock Films have recently released two films on DVD (Marie & Jack: A Hardcore Love Story, and Xana & Dax: When Opposites Attract) which feature lots of real explicit sex, but aren't made in the model of typical porn films. There are several more on the way, and Comstock is already becomming known for his unusual ‘documentary’ style of making erotic films. In the interview, he talks about how he sees the pornography industry, and bemoans the lack of craft in modern porn films. He also explains why he has so far only used real couples for performers, rather than regular porn stars. He feels, and I think I agree, that a using a real couple reduces the danger that the viewer will worry about the performers, spoiling the eroticism. If you know these people are shagging each other all the time anyway, it's easier to just enjoy watching them have fun. He's certainly persuaded me to get a copy of one of these films. I want to see what all the fuss is about. If you're interested in how pornography is made, and how it might (or should) change in the future, then go listen to the programme. < Lords ammend religious hatred bill | Sex.com thief finally arrested > |
