Male pill shown to be reversible

There's been some more progress in developing an equivalent of the contraceptive pill for men. From a BBC article:

Researchers looked at data on more than 1,500 men around the world who had taken part in tests of some form of hormonal contraception.

On average, men took three to four months to recover full fertility, according to a paper in the Lancet.

In an audio summary (MP3), Dr Astrid James, Deputy Editor of The Lancet talked about where research on the male pill is now:

…so with this new evidence of quick reversibility, these findings bring the likelihood of hormonal methods of contraception for men ever closer, which as I see it is good news for both women and men.

Effective, safe, and fully reversible methods of contraception remain depressingly limited, and it's about time, more or less an astonishing 40 years after the launch of the female contraceptive pill, that options for men increased, which of course allows more choice for women and for men.

Yep, it is about time we had more control over those pesky sperms.
